Lockhart has returned to Camp Defiance after being separated from fellow troops near the Medina River.

Description: Letter from Charles Moore relating stories he heard from a man named Nicholas while riding on the train. The man claimed to be represent a publisher out of Philadelphia. In his early years in Texas, long before the "War of Unpleasantness," he traded a law library worth of books to Governor Henderson in exchange for land.
